During Active Schools Week, all the students and teachers had great fun getting active. We had Movement Monday, Tug & Tyre Tuesday, Wild Walk Wednesday, Throwing Thursday and Fun Games Friday! Leading an active lifestyle is of great importance for adults and children alike. All the teachers in our school promote active learning in the classroom and encourage students to join extra-curricular activities that provide opportunities to get active!
In May and June, all our classes went on their school tours and had super fun. Junior Infants went to Newgrange Farm and saw lots of baby animals, Senior Infants went to Imaginosity and got to play all day while First Class went to the Zoo and learned all about lots of animals but particularly those who live in the rainforest.
All at PETNS got involved for Sports day and everyone had a great day outside! We had egg and spoon races, parachute games, obstacle courses, bucket relays and much more!
The unveiling of our new defibrillator took place in the school on Tuesday June 26th 2018. Alan Brogan (former Dublin footballer) and Barry (Supervalu Manager) were invited to do the unveiling for the whole school. Lots of those in our school community got involved on the May Bank Holiday weekend to shake some buckets in our local Supervalu which raised a whopping €1700 for our defibrillator.
Picnic in the Park
On the final day of term last year, lots of children and families went to the local park and playground for a picnic in the sun. It was a great success and everyone had lots of fun! Thanks to Centra Rathborne for providing lots of ice-lollies!
