I love teaching children about human rights and being a global citizen, and have worked in this area in Moldova and Uganda. I also love teaching music and choir in school. In my spare time I enjoy playing piano, practicing yoga and walking in the Phoenix Park!

Hello! I’m Ciara and I have been teaching in Pelletstown since 2016. Before that, I taught in Citywest ETNS and North Bay ETNS. I love reading, and have loads of storybooks in my room. I also like making up stories – the sillier the better! I really like teaching English and Maths, and love to use games because I think children learn better when things are fun! Maeve

Maeve

School Secretary

Hi, I am Maeve. I have lived in Dublin all my life and I have three children. Before starting in Pelletstown ETNS, I worked part time in the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed, I also helped out in my husband’s business WAGS launderette in Rathborne. This is my first time working in the education sector, I am loving it. A child will walk past the office and give me a wave or a smile, it makes the day seem brighter.

Aoife T

Third Class Teacher

Hi, I’m Aoife. I’m from Dublin and I’ve been an Educate Together teacher since 2004. I enjoy teaching all of the subjects, especially Maths, History, Geography and Art. The Learn Together curriculum is very important to me. I enjoy helping children to view the world in different ways and from different perspectives, encouraging them to see themselves as active agents for change in our world. Outside of school, I like to read, watch boring programmes about politics and listen to my children add suggestions to their list of ‘500 reasons why we should get a dog.’

I love to teach all the subjects, but my favourite subjects are Maths, Science and Gaeilge. I believe that mindfulness and exercise are very important and help us to work better during the day. It might be ten jumping jacks or ten deep breaths, but little breaks are good for our brain! Outside of school I like to go for walks in the park and I’m also a big sports fan. Hockey and GAA are my favourite sports! I always have a book in my bag and love to read. When you see me, you can ask me what book I’m reading at the minute! As my favourite author, Dr Seuss, says “the more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go.”
